"Dismantled to get to group head assembly, removed group head and fitted new housing, reassemble using loctite to secure housing to thermo block, the problem was the group head had come loose causing the leak and splitting the seal, put machine all back together tested ok, made me a nice coffee."

"Replaced the group head seal a number of times before discovering that it was bulging out under pressure. very little information out there about remedying the problem until i came across this video: https:www.youtube.comwatchvw1igajgvsh4 the problem occurs when the screws holding the group head work loose under vibration allowing it to flex under operating pressure (can take months or years for the fault to manifest). only solution is to strip down the machine completely and remove the group head, we ordered a new part from bigwarehouse spares as i wasnt satisfied with the subtle distortion in the original part. its vital that you use threadlock (loctite) on the screw threads to avoid the issue occuring again..."
