"Removed rear panel (undo seven star screws) and gained access to the broken (plastic) connector which screws into the pump. removed transfer pipe from broken connector by pulling out retaining clip and slipping the piece off the pipe. removed broken thread section from the pump by slightly wedging an appropriate size screwdriver inside the screw area and simply turning it out. fitted new connector to the pump by screwing it into the threaded hole then reinserted the transfer pipe into the connector and seating it firmly into the base then re-attached the holding clip."
