"Unplug the power lead first, remove water tank, remove top cover 2 screws at rear and gently pull backwards to disengage from slots at front side. unplug switch ribbon cable carefully and earth clip. remove 2 white hoses going to connector by pulling small metal clips out of tubes. turn machine up and undo the screw holding the metal filter underneath where the basket is held. remove the white gasket around the support. return machine upright. undo the 2 screws holding the connector and extract. the mushroom tip and spring will fall out. remove the 2 screws holding the support. turn machine on its back and carefully rotate the support till the 3 plastic extensions on the support come out of the black rubber gasket and the support lifts out. now carefully fit the new support in making sure the black gasket is still in place (small pip in a hole) and not damaged. it will be a bit tight and the 4 screw holes should line up inside the machine where the connector will screw in. turn machine back up. there are 2 small rubber o rings in the removed connector for the hoses. put them in the new connector. dont forget put a new orange o ring on the connector just in case the old one is stretched. put the mushroom and spring back in the way it came out. tilt machine horizontal and carefully push new connector into place making sure the spring with mushroom head does not get misaligned or fall out. screw the connector in. the connector must go in even - no tilt so turn each screw alternatively a turn at a time to make sure when fully screwed down the support is not distorted - if it is the leak will reappear. make sure each screw is right down and tight. now put in the 2 screws that hold the support in place. reconnect the small hoses. check they go in properly into the o rings and the clips go in easily. turn machine upside down and put the white basket gasket on the new support and then the metal filter attached with the short screw. it might be tight but it has to go in all the way. you can check for leaking by reattaching the switch ribbon and earth lug but keeping the top open so that you can see into the rear of the connector with a torch. be careful not to touch anything electrical since there is 240 volts around the area - use rubber gloves if unsure or call an electrician at this stage. put the water tank in and put an esd pod in the basket and run the machine. there should be no evidence of water leaking around the support. refit the top after removing tank. then put tank back in. please note that prior to this fix i had replaced the white basket gasket and the black rubber seal but that was not where the leak was. it was between the support and connector section due to a small expansion of the plastic parts over time with heat. a very small gap but hot water under pressure with a pod was able to go through the gap."
