"Remove freezer door and then fridge door. tilt fridge back a little to raise front of fridge and slide a piece of timber under to hold it there whilst replacing the hinge plate. place plastic sheet over the open fridge to hold back most of the cold air. with fridge door placed flat on a table unscrew and replace the thimble ensuring that their is still sufficient backing in the hole where the thimble is inserted. replace everything in reverse order."

"Had used you tube to find out how to replace parts and it looked to be a straightforward job of removing fridge door, replacing thimble, then tilting the fridge to remove the old hinge plate and replace. however the bottom of the fridge door was found to be broken and so a plate had to be made to repair the broken section before the the thimble could be inserted. tried a variety of methods to no avail then used metal epoxy putty to fill the cavity, inserted the thimble and now everything is working well."
