"Fitting a new solenoid requires most of the machine covers to be removed. getting the top off is quite tricky as is the curved plastic cover where the water tank goes in. the solenoid is in line with other copper pipe fittings but because of the tight fit of the covers must be placed in the original alignment. this means that the threaded connections cannot simply be screwed up as tight as possible in order to seal them. doing so will probably result in the parts aligning incorrectly and make it impossible to get the covers back on. the original assembly has been done using a thread sealer to get around this and you need to do the same. after a few failures i used a common plumbers gas thread sealer but it worked fine for water. only after that was i able to get the machine to seal and not leak at the joints. teflon tape did not work. also check the tightness of the connections for the tube from the solenoid assembly to the pressure guage. mine were loose and leaking too. just a weep but these leaks drip down onto the controller board and water shorts things out. not good. if controller is wet dry it thoroughly in the sun before attempting to use the machine."
