"The replacement of the thermostat involves the disconnection of electrical control wires and therefore the task should only be undertaken by a licenced electrician or service agent. basic guide for electricians service agents. 1. turn off refrigerator and remove power plug from wall. 2. open refrigerator door and remove lamp cover to expose front screws that secure temperature control housing. 3. pull the temperature control dial off the thermostat shaft to expose the thermostat mounting screws (if its too hard leave it for now youll get another chance later). 4. remove the metal shelf guide left side of temperature control housing (3 screws 2 long 1 short) to gain access to the rear left mounting screw of the temperature control housing. 5. remove 4 short screws holding temperature control housing in place. 6. gently lower the housing and plastic grill at the right rear of the housing (this holds the thermostat temperature sensor) to gain access to the thermostat. 7 (a). if you were able to remove the temperature dial earlier remove the thermostat mounting screws and lift the thermostat out. (b). if you were not able to remove the dial earlier gentle push the dial off the shaft from the inside and then remove the mounting screws. 8. disconnect the wires from the thermostat and remove the sensor off the small plastic grill. 9. you can now connect the wires to the new thermostat and re-install making sure to re-attach the sensor to the grill."
